Nine to Ten

January 4th, 2010

Without us (humans) this new year would be nothing more than just another revolution around the sun. In many ways, I suppose, that’s all it is. Then again, things are what you make them.

For many, last year was a bad year. For me, I’m not too sure I can agree. Yes, I went to more funerals than I ever have in my life, there’s still a war going on that should have ended long ago, and the economy went to shit. On the lighter side, my wife and I had a beautiful child (Aton), I’m enjoying fatherhood (as best as I can) and I’m helping pour the foundation of an advertising agency with some really great people at Crane|West (we’re busy). The positives have totally outweighed the negatives in my opinion.

Some memorable 09 phrases:

  1. Nose dive! (I watched Heavy Metal for the first time.)
  2. Finger Binger! (09 ACL was muddy, but it was fun.)
  3. Dadadada. (It’s nice hearing my son say it whether he knows what it means or not.)
  4. You’re going to hell. (A nice religious discussion with my mom.)
  5. I bet it’s bad gas. (A long day on a trip to Dallas)
  6. Here’s to less people dying! (Happy New Years!!)

This new year will be what we make it. I plan to create more (project52.info may help), play more, and grow up all over again thanks to my son Aton.

Happy New Year!

  1. Its hard to remember the negatives of the year when you had a baby. Memorable phrases is an awesome idea. Although, I would like to forget #5.
